I have heard that legend boats in Canada are made by Starcraft, does anyone know if this is true ?

As far as I know Legend hulls are made by Smokercraft, same as Sylvan.

Up here in Toronto Legend boats don't have a very good reputation.

May want to do a some research on the quality of these boats.

Their marketing is very good to any first time boat buyer as they underpower every boat advertised but the price sure gets your attention and gets you thinkin'!

Happy shopping ;)

The Legend welded hulls are made by Starcraft (not Sylvan). In the states they are marketed and sold under the Monark brand. The Legend boats are actually finished up in Canada, so they do differ slightly from a finished Monark.

I have had one for 7 years and it has been great. I know a guy at a cottage next to mine who replaced his Lund with one and has not looked back. I suspect they have the same history and re-sale value as their Monark/Starcraft sister craft. I have never heard of anyone having any significant problem with one. Their factory is in Ontario and has been responsive the few times I called with questions.

IMHO, some narrow minded people are critical of them because they tend to advertise their boats underpowered to show a lower price. But that is just buyer beware if you ask me; just make sure you get a HP that fits your needs.

isn't it true that the majority of boat manufacturers advertise their boats with less than max hp motor for sales purposes ?
I believe alot of people do not need the full hp rating on their boats to be very happy. the right combination of boat and hp can be fuel efficent, not everyone needs to go 70 mph.
my son has a starcraft c-star 185 with a 90 hp 2 stroke that does 40 mph, full fuel, gear and 2 adults and it sips gas, very fuel efficent and comfortable combination
