I talked to Mckoz yesterday about Salmo's, He pretty much said that you are the man in regards to this lure!! I have been looking to pick up some of these lures and when mentioned in the local bait and tackle shops they think I'm nuts. My questions are Where can I find them? and what presentation do you use with them? If you don't mind saying.

Thanks,
eyebuster

Where are you located? I can try to help you find some, or check out their web site and look them over.

I do know of one outlet for 3-pack SALMO crank kits that is a great deal. If they are not all gone by now?

Hit on the USA flag for the English version of the site.

The cranks are top-notch plugs. They are world renown for detail and durability. From muskie to trout they have models that do the job.

Some of my personal favorites for walleye are the Whitefish, Sting, Bullhead, Roach, Chubby Darter (vertical jigging lure for all seasons) and the Perch. There are several other lures in the Salmo line that I like, also some new models that I will be playing with in 2002.

The Whitefish line is a serious trollers plug, definitely a piggy plug. Both the jointed and the deeper divers with metal lips run true and take a lot of hits with no damage. Far fewer broken lips in tough trolling condition’s, that I really like.

The Perch is a long liners dream for night time piggy's. Man that lure is a sweet wobblier!

I am not afraid to use SUMO sized plugs for walleye, especially at night.

Salmo's Pike baits are awesome too. Serious stuff for toothy critters!

There is tons of great info on the Salmo site that will help you understand what plugs may be best for your needs, well worth the look. Salmo has a neat site and the artwork Peter designs is great. I want him to do a logo for me, you will see why once you see his work.

If you need any more help let me know. I am still trying to hunt down the link to the sale on Salmo 3-packs that I mentioned.
