Hey all,
This is just to inform those of you who might be looking for the story or photos this morning, that there aren't any photos and there is no story...other than the story about how I got up earlier than yesterday, so I could get more photos and interviews, but I went to the wrong launch!

It never dawned on me that they might use the Bolles Harbor launch this morning, since I have never been to a tournament where there has been more than one official launch....and, at 5am (and no coffee yet) my brain wasn't functioning on all cylinders. There was also a small craft advisory still in effect this morning until 10am.

When I got to the launch at Elizabeth Park, there was no one there and that's when it became clear that I had an invitation to a great party, but the address on my invitation was different than everyone else's!

So, without knowing exactly where Bolles Harbor Marina is off of I75, and no gps in my truck....a husband back home with a computer, but who was still sleeping when I called...a friend who was up and working the baitshop back home, but didn't know where that launch was either...and Kristine's phone number tucked neatly in the email section of my computer (instead of my phone where it should be!)...I was out of options, and time.

So, sorry everyone! Wish I could have been there for you. I'll be at the right launch tomorrow morning...I promise! :)

See you this afternoon for the live webcast of the weigh in. The weigh in will begin at approximately 4-4:30 p.m.

I will start the webcast at around 3:30 though, for those who like to come early and chat in the weigh in chat room.

Juls,
I thought you were Miss fancy-pants with a wireless card for your laptop? No signal down there? Of course, it looks like the public launch (based on the parking lot) might be on the north side of the channel.

HRG...Nope, no wireless card here...just wireless computers. Unfortunately, none of the three computers I have are a Blackberry!

Thanks for the cell number update Brian. :)

Why two launch sites? I've fished tourneys for over 20 years and have never seen that move.

Why two launch sites? I've fished tourneys for over 20 years and have never seen that move.

The original and official launch site is the Bolles Harbor launch. Unfortunately, for the first day of the event, the conditions restricted the teams to the river, so they launched out of Elizabeth Park on the Detroit River....a good move.

However, this morning they moved back over to the original launch. I didn't know. My bad.

Hey Juls, does the change of launch site mean that they are letting them hit the lake today? Thanks for all the coverage..keep the coffee flowing.

According to the recording I just listened to, they were given their full boundary (Michigan, Canada, Ohio) but warned that the small craft advisory for Ohio wouldn't be lifted until 10AM.

Waves will be deminishing all day, so it will only get better for them, as the day goes on.

Thanks for the update and the honest reply. With that kind of honesty you would never make it as a politician. Many of us do appreciate your articles and photos with W/C. Let's hope the boys find some clean water out on Erie. Then again if Some of the boys areu are fishing the river today, maybe not? Thanks again for the great coverage this year!
