I have a 2001 620 Ranger with a 225 Opti.

I am having an issue with oil leaking when I fill my oil tank. Is there an overflow that I am not aware of?

This has happened several times and when I get home and take my plug out oil is coming from the bilge.

I have opened the hatch to the oil tank and really do not feel any massive amount of oil in the bottom of the hatch, on any hoses, or on the fill tube. I am totally stumped and looking for advice.

Thanks
Rich

Rich,
The only way to know for sure and it is what the dealer would do if he were fixing the problem.

1. Open all hatches.
2. Remove all oil tanks from the boat.
3. Clean all hatches and bilge of any contaminants.
4. Check all oil hoses, connections, tanks, and tank tops for leaks or problems. If necessary, top off all tanks with oil to verify that the tanks are all ok. Turn the tanks sideways with the tanks fully topped off to insure that the caps don't leak.

Finally, after finding and resolving the problem, reinstall the appropriate tanks and get back to fishing.

Bottom line - somewhere in your boat, you have an oil leak.
Remove all oil containers, oil transfer lines, verify and fix leak and you will be fine.

Take care
