I was wondering what kind of effects leaving my bow out in my unheated garage would have on it? It already sounds like a bad idea to me, but it is the best place for it if it is okay to do it. I live in northern Mn and it gets mighty cold here.

Thanks Labs- I'll check it out.
i've been doing it for years with no adverse effect. During the cold parts of the hunting season I think it is better as you will not get condensation with temp changes. When hunting below freezing temps bows will have a tendency to creek. Draw your bow every so often to keep this to a minimum.

I keep my bow in the treestand every evening I hunt at my cabin in northern wisconsin and have never had a problem. Many mornings I have to shake the snow off of it. I only wish it could talk though.

with todays materials in limbs, strings etc . , there probably wouldnt be any adverse effects , and quite honestly I would never ( and dont ) do it , even with the quality materials in todays stuff , no different than anything else, cold weather is harder on stuff than in the porch or wherever indoors .......... not a real good comparison here , but I would bet that your vehichle has a bunch more squeels & growls sitting out over nite vs being in a shed ...... Be sure to use a peep aligner tube because the cold may cause a string twist as well as hot weather can. A peep tube will keep you in line with your string when you draw. I wouldn't recommend leaving it out in extreme cold if you are using any type of battery operated light sight fiber optics. Like ia bhtr said with todays materials you should be OK. Keep your strings waxed well with the softer wax.
Also keep an eye on your arrow fletching (if you are keeping your arrows with your bow)and make sure the glue doesn't crack and let go and your feathers or vanes fall off. A slight pull on each fletching will indicate if the glue is weak. They will pull completely or partially off. Good to check no matter where they are stored..................Paul
