I have had this unit since summer of 2006 and utilize it both for hard (winter ice-ducer w/ portable pack) and soft water (transom mount transducer that stays on boat). This spring when I installed it back on my boat, I notice my temp. reading was way out of wack. All summer I have been getting reading stating 100+ degree temps. I have perfromed a soft reset, which was to no avail. I figured it was a bad transducer, so I purchased a new transducer. To my dismay, I still am getting reading as previously stated. My next step would be to do a hard reset, however I am a little reluctant as I don't want to lose all my waypoints created over the two years. Does anyone have some advise of something I may be missing in the menu screen to recalibrate this, or thoughts of what may rectify this problem. I appreciate any help in advance. Tight Lines.

Hey Dave ~
How goes it??
You can buy a (Sandisk brand is recommended - LESS than 1GB in storage size) cheap SD card and back up all your waypoints to a *.USR file , which can be easily & quickly reloaded.
Just pull your map card out (ALWAYS powered down , of course) plug in a blank card and go to: system setup|transfer my data|SAVE.
Then after you've done your hard reset do the exact same thing EXCEPT
go to: system setup|transfer my data|LOAD.
After you back up your data , go into : Browse MMC files to verify the file name you saved is on the card.
;)
I honestly think SOMETHING wanked out in your unit - so in a worse case:

Well, after a hard reset that did not rectify the problem, I contacted Lowrance for advice and a possible RA# for repair. I am hoping to have the issue resolved in a very favorable manner in the coming weeks. I appreciate your help SWF. Tight Lines.

Today I received the final piece to the puzzle and looks like all systems are working. As in my previous post, my first problem was the temp. reading I was getting. Lowrance replaced my unit with what I think was a rebuilt 334Ci and I sent my unit back in with a call tag, postage paid. Unit works, however was having a problem with the new unit upon powering the unit on. Intro screen would appear and all buttons were locked, so I would have to disconnect from power block to shut unit down. After some trouble shooting, I determined that my Lakemaster chip wasn't reading with the new unit, so today I received a new Lakemaster chip (at no charge) and seems to now work flawlessly. I sure appreciate all of the help I recieved from the Navico Customer Service Dept. and would not hesitate purchasing another Lowrance unit in the future. I was worried that the unit would need to be sent in for repair, and with hard water season just around the corner and still having my boat in the garage ready to go....well you understand, I was afraid I would be wtihout my unit for first ice (portable ice pack). Thanks again to Linda and the Customer Service staff. Tight Lines
