Everyone knows we are planning for the weekend of August 16-18 at Glendo Res. again. What if we don't have enough water? The next three weeks will be critical for Colorado and Wyoming. If we don't get our usual strong, wet, Pacific fronts we are going to have water problems this summer. Although it was pretty bad last year and we still were able to use Glendo? What if we can't? Anybody have suggestions for an alternative site?

Great Choice, but it is down stream of Glendo! Will it have water?

Enough. Plus Nebraska is good about putting in temporary ramps if needed.

Merritt would be good in August. How about Francis Case on the Missouri. What is it like that time of year? Maybe something North?
Good fishing!

Might thing about Semino. A big fish bite always happens in Aug. It always has water. The only problem may be its so remote.

Everybody who attended last year camped, so that might be an option. I have read before that Seminole retains more of its volume than the rest of lakes on the North Platte system?

Everytime I've been there in the last 12 years it always has more water and most of the time there's no one there. This year we aren't have a tourney there but I will be back. The fish are always big if you find them. Last Aug. I caught a 30 1/2" and a 30 3/4" three hours apart. Two days later caught a 27" and 28" on back to back passes on the same spot.

Pathfinder would also be a good choice. More fish of all sizes than seminoe. Although Seminoe has some big piggy's. Either one will be good and since wwc is not fishing at seminoe it should be a good choice.

How about Ft. Peck? Also another one to think about is Sakakawea or key hole outside of sundance...

I would like to attend this years get together. My vote is Seminoe. I love that lake. Isolated. Some big fish. If you get there on Thursday evening or Friday morning you can grab a shelter in the south campground somewhat close to water so folks don't have to trailer the boats if they choose not to. Also the south campground has more space between shelters.

I hope we can continue to have it at Glendo? Glendo has won the vote hands down all three years and is Scott Goldens preffered choice. Seminole would be a good second choice. Pathfinder is my favorite lake in this region also. Everybody that has attended the two years has been from Colorado or Wyoming,( with the exception of Eyeboy), so we need to keep it close enough so we don't lose our core group! Also it is only three days and Big Sac and Oahe involves to much travel time.
I guess we can just wait and watch the next couple of months and see what happens?
Is this get together by invitation or open to anyone? Just wondering.

We started this in 2000 so everyone on Walleye Central from are region could get a chance to meet each other. We held the 2000 get-together the first week of October and got hit with a bad storm. Last year we held it August 17-19 and the fishing was great. We had about 15 people and five boats. We caught about 150 eye's, including three 30 inchs or more. They were suspended out over the channel chasing shad. Scott has pictures from last years event on the Get-Together page. It is an informal fishing and camping weekend to meet fellow WC users and to learn. Plus lots of beer and good food!! I am expecting roughly 30 people this year, hope you can make it!
Seminoe is nice that time of year, tends to be slightly cooler, and it's not crowded. Keyhole should have a good water level but it's a bit of a drive. Grayrocks doesn't have any day use or camping fees and water level should be good. Big Mac would be a good choice. I'm sure Boysen's level will be terrible. Maybe we need a poll.

Keyhole is only 130 miles north of Glendo. The lake has been at full capacity for at least the past 6 years.
I wouldn't mind going to Keyhole, I usually try to get up there a couple of times a year. It would be a drive for the people farther south in Colorado though.

Keyhole is about 200 miles from Glendo. I live 1/2 so I know I have to make a choice every time I go to the lake. It's like a kid in a candy store trying to decide.

The reason I always plan this for Glendo, is that is where everyone always votes for. Secondly, of the 20 people I know will be there, 18 are from either Denver, Colorado Springs, Cheyenne and Fort Collins. Glendo is pretty easy for everybody to get to but still a long hole for anyone coming from Pueblo or further south. If it looks like we can't use Glendo we will vote again later this summer on a new location. I think we will have a good turnout this year?

Well smoking and drinking you can be my guest since I am underaged and all. Do you really want me filleting fish and handeling knives in an angry mood (used to juggle and throw knives and hatchets as a hobby). And to be honest I have never filleted a fish in my life, normally we just clean them and give our fish to grandparents for them to eat.

The projection was bad last year too. Things are looking up already in the high country so don't bail on Glendo yet, besides if Glendo has no water practice dry-land Walleye jigging because there won't be any water anywhere along the Platte River! Last year we were in April with 75% projection run off we hit June with 95% so hang in there.
