Due to the wonderful gift from Mother Nature over the weekend, I decided to start spring cleaning in the basement. Going thru the shelves of fishing paraphernalia and Christmas decorations, I found myself knee-deep in boxes. Fortunately, my wife came down and offered her assistance. (Good thing, or we would have had a Charlie Brown Christmas Tree this year.) Behind the shelves were 6 or 7 7' cardboard tubes, once used to ensure the safe delivery of some ordered fishing rods.
I grabbed the tubes and laid them on the floor for my 10 month old daughter to amuse herself with. She was happily banging them around, and when it got annoying, I decided to take them to the garage and cut them up for garbage pick-up. Taking the plastic end caps off before cutting, I noticed one of the tubes had plastic shoved in it. Pulling out the plastic, I found it contained a 7' BPS Walleye Series retractable trolling rod! It still had the tags on it, and the order invoice was in the tube. It had a date on it from 1997! Does this mean I have too much fishing paraphernalia?
Just wondering if anyone else has some "forgotten and found" stories.
