Anybody here any rumors of the WI league schedule? Dates? Locations? When they might be releaseing the official schedule?

I'm sure there won't be any surprises on the WI schedule. The craziest thing they will possibly do is have two on Green Bay instead of two on Bago, but I'd expect almost an exact copy of the 08 schedule. They found their formula there, and will not change it untill they have too.

Why change what works? The number in WI are highest in the League series. They will probably go back to the same places on the same weekends.

I think that regular league competitors will get tired of the same locations every year. Only the locals to Green bay and Winnebago will be smiling at a repeated schedule of the 08 season. Two stops last year on the bay, and a ball busting opening round at Wineconnie left many people with abused equipment. A river event would be a nice change of pace. The Petenwell event was always a nice one, or a WI league event out of the La Crosse/pepin area. Just my 2 Cents

It is a simple formula for the FLW League in WI, Fish where the majority of the tournament anglers live....The lodging expense gets cut out for quite a few when they are held on Green Bay and Bago...maybe up to 40%(guesstimate) can stay in the comfort of their own homes. I would think moving the 'Bago event to June and Move the Green Bay event to Mid-May and leave the Oconto event as is....that would be more of the same but a bit of a change-up. WI Wade

I'm sure they will leave it the same. This was the best turnout they have had thus far. If it is the same, I will not be fishing it. I love the league events, but I miss the Pete event. Just nice to have a change of pace to keep you on your toes. The schedule biases the locals. While I don't have a problem competing anywhere, I wish that more folks from the Winnebago area would feel the same way. It seems as though they don't like to travel or test their skills outside their comfort zone. Lots of other great places to fish, whether its Pete, the Mississippi, or somewhere else.

good reply. would also like to see some different water. petenwell or the mississippi would be good. not holding my breath. like wade said, what they've been doing works and draws boats because of the local nature of the events and proximity to a large # of tourney anglers. petenwell did draw a pretty good field the last few years. would also like to see mid may green bay, late june bago, late july oconto if they keep the same locales. just hoping for at least one different venue this season.
Only one variable destination , would be out side of green bay and bago, those two are a givin, the third will never be on the miss, after the lack of interest there for the finals, those won't be held there again either.

You think you cheese heads have it bad, check out the Michigan division.
All we can expect to do is watch boards with worms behind them. The only variable last year was if the weather was going to be bad or really bad.
Oh, I just remembered, we had a stop in another state too, and we had a real treat, we got to watch boards with crank baits behind them, when they could be seen between the big waves.
Going to the Mississippi was great, no waves, no boards...I loved it. Hope they go back there.
All that said, I'll see there.

In MI watching boards would be better than watching nothing.... feeling here is the MI division is gone for 2009.
Hi all,Do you think we are going to hear something soon? I am getting close to putting in my vacation for 2009.
Please,Please,soon.

Would be nice if they added some of the up in the wis div.Im only 1.5 hours from geen bay and 8-9 to detroit.north end of the green bay is only 8-10 miles out of escanaba they should have one out of here or gladstone.May make it a little harder for lower wis though. Can always dream.

As long as the FLW and other tournaments realize the best dates are NOT in late JULY and AUG on the bay it would be nice...I won't hold my breath....Lets have it in May-June and Sept..Give the fish a break in the hot months and have the Championship in October......Just my two cents
