I plan on using my 332 for ice fishing this year. I am going to purchase the ice kit for it, which includes the iceducer, bag, battery, etc. The question I have is, how do I set up the lcg2000 gps antenna for use outside of the NMEA network? Currently I need to power it separate from the 332 because it is also networked with an x-25. Will I also need to power the antenna separately or will I be able to connect it direct and get power from the unit itself?

I have the same unit (LMS 332C) that I also use for ice fishing. I bought the vexilar blue box for $20, slightly modified the box, installed a 7AH gell cell and connected both the LCG2000 and the LMS332 to that battery and it works great. I have used it this way for 2 seasons with no problem. I mounted the "puck" on the handle and used a Johny Ray mount for the case. I use the same Johny Ray in my boat so the transition is as simple as removing teh power chord and installing the power on the case. I already had an "Ice-ducer" so that is why I didn't purchase the ice pack.
This is a really good ice fishing fishfinder!

Don't you have to worry about the LCD screen freezing up?

A tip for LCD screen usage in -0 weather is to add a Mr. Heat style body warmer to the ice pack behind the unit and between the battery. The added heat inside the soft pack ice case will help to keep the unit warm and also helps to keep the battery warm and will last longer on the ice.
Avoid direct contact with heat pack and the unit or the battery. It will not get so hot to damage it but direct contact is not needed. The Mr Heat style packs last from 6- 8 hours.

No. Unless you will be fishing out on the ice with no fish house. I have a portable I use in North Dakota and Minnesota and with up to -10F outside, Inside my portable Clam 1060, never had anything but great usage. If you were to sit outside in those temps, I may be worried but I don't like fishing THAT MUCH. It doesn't get much colder than it does in ND and MN in the winter unless you are in Canada by Le pas or north!
