Hello,

I bought a new Navio chip '08 - to put in my LCX-25. I put the chip in the drawer - and close the door. I head to my favorite local lake - launch - and power up my unit.....expecting to see depth contour lines on my map. Nothing. It's just like I was using only the base map as before.....what gives?

Do I need to do something to "activate" my chip.

It should recognize the chip. Perhaps the chip is not seated properly?

You don't need to activate the chip, but you do need to tell the LCX-25 to use the maps on the chip.

To display a Navionics chart:
1. Install the Navionics MMC in the memory card compartment and
turn on the unit. (For full card install instructions, see Sec. 2.)

2. From the Map Page, press MENU|↓ to MAP DATA|ENT|→ to MAP
DATASET CHOICE|ENT. Use ↓ key to select the NAVIONICS, then press ENT.

Yarcraft91 is correct, there are many lakes/charts on your chip, you need to choose the area you're fishing and then wait a few seconds for the unit to find it on the chip before you can see it on the display.

If you yave any other questions, let me know. Menu Map Data is the key to setting up the correct mapping area.
