All depends if the sun is out and bright or not. Which one for which situation is top secret...I can't give out all my secrets now! LOL

Jam,

I prefer the orange and yellow for walleyes, the red and white bobbers represent a daredevil too much and all I get is northerns.
I like to use them with an adjustable float half filled with water or a shy bite as a guide.
You could also get the book "Bobbers, Bobbers, Bobbers and You" its hard to come by because it is so popular.

Hey Steve didn't a guy do really well with the yellows at Mil Lac used with a bottom bouncer? Hey would that work to keep the sinker off bottom?lol I couldn't resist.

Good luck JAM and remember to buy them in bulk!!!! with all those snags.

Take care

When you get to my age you want a bobber that you can see :)

Thill makes a nice bobber. It's made for walleye. Got them at gander mtn. Walleye is on the packet.

its not the color but the size that counts

I beg to differ ... size of the bobber is NOT important ... it is how it is weighted, positioned, and maneuvered over the contours ... ask any female walleye. After all, those are the ones we are trying to catch, right??

Ok, so who here has used those so called "smart bobbers"
the ones that are suppose to adjust to different depths
auto magically? Fishing Minnesota's website advertises them.

Anyone try them??

I tested the Smart Bobber.

They did not prove very useful for me on rivers. I was less then impressed with their reliability in current situations.

They may prove to be good on lakes?

So that's why yours are all painted blaze orange with a 2 foot flag sticking off the top? Always wondered about that... :) So which do you prefer, red flag or yellow?

Hey Dusty, Hot pink flags where good last year but I think I'll need to upgrade my binoculars to 10 power this year or maybe break down and get a spotting scope :) See you and your Dad in Chamberlain :)

No,no,no!
You guys got it all wrong!
I am sure you have seen the battery powered bobber with the propeller on it for trolling from shore. It was the hit of the Pontiac fishing show...
Now thats the ticket!!! LOL

Perch ... aren't those the ones run by remote-control like the little cars that kids have??? Jeez ... I am getting excited now ... who the heck needs a new boat? All I need is a pair of those 10-power binoculars so I can see the bobber and a very long antenna on both the bobber and the transmitter. I can run my jig right straight down from the propeller-driven bobber!!

Wait, wait! I still need my boat for a netting platform. Also, it might be hard to follow contours without being in my boat. HMMMM... maybe if I put a locator on my bobber and built-in a transmitter to send the readings back to shore ... hmmmm.

LOL, you know, believe it or not, one time I did see a remote controlled toy boat that had a gizmo on it that was like a mousetrap that you hooked a fishing line up to. The idea was to motor the thing around and when fish hit, the mousetrap would set the hook. Just hope it wasnt a pike or something or you could kiss your toy good bye!:)
