OK, last time I post on this subject. I promise! I think I've narrowed my search for a real lightweight kicker down to the Suzuki DF6. I'm not trolling with it, just need to move around on my favorite under-10hp lake, so I'm not real concerned about vibration. Last time out with my 9.9, I saw 5.5mph pretty well flat-out, for those of you that use these small (4,5,6hp) kickers, what kind of speed do you see? Again, the point here is to use the 'Zuki to get me from the launch ramp to the fishing areas, then move around with the electric TM. I've tried using just my 65#/24V MK Vector, the pace is just a bit too slow, plus it eats-up the batteries. I've thought about maybe going the 101#/36V route, but I don't think I can fit the 3rd battery in my in-floor compartment.
Thanks, HRG

I had a 5hp Honda on a 16' Crestliner deep v, walk thru winshield. I could get 5 - 5.4 mph (GPS), wide open throttle. I don't remember what pitch prop I was running on it, either a 7 or 9 pitch.

I had a 2005 16 ft lund explorer tiller with a 6 hp merc kicker. With the big engine (60hp) trimmed all the way out of the water I could get just over 5 mph out of it. It kind of vibrated alot but thats what you get from a single cylinder engine.......
