I noticed the other day that my replica mount done by Matt at Artistic Anglers was in dire need of cleaning (dust and other). It's in my living room, and does come in contact with smoke on a fairly regular basis. Does anybody have any advice on what to clean it with, or, more importantly, what NOT to clean it with!! I figured I'd try to get as much dust off as I can with a small paint brush, then wipe it down with something.

Have you thought of trying compressed air? You can buy it in 16 oz cans and it works great for keyboards and such. That way you don't have to use any chemicals and those little cans of air work pretty well. Does seem kind of odd to buy air though!!!

I would think a feather duster would work. I was told to clean my deer mount with pledge.

That's "sawz-all"! Problem is, I borrowed mine to a buddy and haven't seen it in about three months. I did try a pneumatic die grinder, but that didn't go so well :)

Seriously, I was finally able to get in touch with Matt and he suggested a damp soft rag with a very mild dish soap solution. Great - now I gotta go by dish soap AND a feather duster!

Latex Paint Brushes work great for dusting mounts.
