Last year I bought a 6hp 4 stroke Evinrude to go on my Stratos 217. The first time out I broke the bolt that holds the thingy that holds the motor up. I was bouncing around on Winnebago pretty good but not ridiculous. When I had it repaired (65.00) the mechanic told me that I should have a mount for the kicker instead of attatching it directly to the transom. Does anyone have any suggestions for me. I have seen some different mounts in Cabelas but I don't know anyone who has one. I have seen the Panther mount on a few boats but have not seen them advertised. Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks JACK (ps I love the motor)

There's other good kicker mounts out there, including the one mentioned above, but I would recommend the panther. I've installed one, and used it, and I think it's great, no problems whatsoever, and it does a good job of keeping the motor from bouncing.

I use an electric trim tilt kicker mount on my pro boat and think it is a great thing. I went with the CMC because of a deal I could get on it but in retrospect I wish I had gone with the Panther Model 35. The CMC doesn't have the clearance that the Panther does and I believe it is slower to come to full tilt or full down than the Panther is.
Just my 2 cents

The panther is about 10 seconds I believe, plenty fast for me.

Exactly! My CMC is much slower than that.
