i am considering getting a dual pro xtreme 2 bank 10/10. questions that i have are there just 2 banks of leads off the charger so one set of leads goes to main and other lead to my aux. bat? if it is this way does the charger know to throw a charge to both bats when connected to AC and than reverses current thru main bat lead back to charger and to my aux bat when recognizes DC from my alternator? I think this system would work really well with my set up as i have a 250 verado(which i think puts out like 60-70 amps) with nothing more than all the verado electronics on the main bat. than i have a aux bat for starting my remote kicker, running the power steering, locators, bilge, livewell and lights. As you can see there is quite a demand on that aux bat and it sounds like this xtreme charger would help. I did just replace the main bat that was 24 series deepcycle with a 27 series AGM (as recommended by veradoclub). I will prolly replace the aux bat with a AGM if impressed with this AGM. If anybody has same setup or input on this setup i would appreciate the info

Answer for the first is yes, 2 leads. The second is you might be confused that a 10 amp 2bank is for charging on shore so the alternator and motor are not running so there is no current going thru the alternator do to the starter and ingition are off. So if you want a charger for on the water they do make the charge on the run series and the output is the Alternator output, somewhere in the 40-50 amp range.
The 10/10 charger is automatic control and does monitor each ind battery, ea has its own led scale. and if it needs a charge only that bank turns on. For the 27 series I like the XL 6amp chargers less heat off them and 6 amps is less of a burden on the AC receptacle. I've had both and unless your a pro or guide where your boat trolling motor batteries need a quick recharge the 6amps for the normal person and your amplication for starter batteries is the one. You will get plenty of charging off the main motor for one of them a on the run battery while on the water might also help maitain during the day such as long runs like up in Canadian waters where your out all day. I do use the XL-2's and like them.
