Any body know where I could find a hammer extension for my 50cal T/C Omega?
I can not find anything at my local stores including Gander MT and Cabela's.
Thanks for any help!

I own several of these rifles as well. I have looked at both the places you mentioned and never found an after-market extionsion that fit.
In light of your post, I just sent a note to T/C asking if they have any such animal available or know anyone who makes them after-market. I will let you know if I hear anything back from T/C.

Below is the response I got from T/C. I suspect the extra weight of the hammer extension slows the hammer speed enough to make the hit on the primer too light to be consistently reliable.

We don’t make a hammer extension and we don’t recommend one. It will cause misfires. You can look in Cabela’s catalogue because I have seen them. They are not ours.

Hey Zlabs,
At least you got a response. I never have. But sure would like to find one. I can't imagine they would miss-fire because of the added weight. The hammer on my omega is not a weak spring at all. Also, it does not take much of a hit to pop the 209 primer.
Thanks!
go to brownells.com website.they have them!

Rudy, thanks for the attempt at help. However, if this is the product you meant, it is for Encore and Contenders only.

If not, which product did you mean? I could not find it on the site.

I looked at them also and do not believe they will work on the TC Omega.
Thanks!

i to want a hammer extension, so i took it to a friend of mine who owns a machine shop, and between the two of us we were going to make one out of aluminum, i did not get back to him for a couple of days, the more i thought about it, i came up with different ideas how to do it, but here is my last thought, t/c says the spring is to weak to handle a hammer, this simply is not true, here is the reason a hammer extension cannot be used on a omega. as anyone kinows who has this gun, to put the primer cap on the breech plug u must pull the trigger mechanism down, doing this also pulls the hammer down through the stock, and if u have a hammer extension on the hammer u would hit the stock, making it virtually impossibe to place the primer on the breech plug, a very poor design by t/c. i have a traditions rifle also, this gun is far more user friendly than the omega, but, the omega is the most accurate rifle i have ever owned, and that i have been around and seen other guys shoot. the right combo, and this gun will shoot as good or better than any other black powder rifle, even t/c's encore, to bad they coulod not have designed that hammer different. its ok without a scope, but very few people hunt wihout a scope, especially if you get some years on you. hope this helps anyone who is contemplating a hammer extension, can't be done.
