I'm adding a 9.9 yamaha kicker to my 1998 1850 SF i/o. Which would work the best for me a panther 35 or a cmc 35? I do not know much about either. Just dont want to loss my kicker. Thanks in advance.

The panther is pretty much the standard unit guys run. I had one that was in fine working condition after 5 years of use on my old Ranger never had any issues with it whatsoever, I have heard some stories about both the panther and the cms lift but nothing is perfect and everything will break from time to time.

Do you have a kicker splashwell? If so just buy a kicker with tilt built into it like a T-8 or T-9 they have a gearcase geard more toward kicker use and comes with a kicker style prop, flat 3 blade on the yamaha I believe.

NO it does not have the kicker pocket. so I'm concered about hanging all of this off the back but guys do it with no problems i guess.

Get the model 35 not the LE. The standard 35 is designed with 2 postitions option. THe far setback is for your application. You also need to get the spacer plate that sets the whole system back another 3".

I also advise you to get the T-4 for the steering. simple to install and fast. If you plan on a remote engine then you're all set.

If you plan on a tiller I'd get the Trollmaster for the throttle

I've got a Panther lift with very light use with a bad motor. Company said the motor is "water resistant" not water proof. Wonder why a motor for a lift hanging on the back of a boat would not be water proof????
