Fished in one of the marinas off 9mi. on Mon. 3-7-02 and ended up with 40 nice perch. Got home and turned on the news and believe it or not, they said DON'T EAT THE FISH!!!!! Turns out some a#@#^%^ have been dumping pollutants in the sewers in SCS (PCB's, mercury,etc...). I still have the fish (frozen) and tried to locate the people who are doing the testing to no avail. Perhaps they can use the fish for testing purposes???? (SOB) If anyone knows of this, let me know please. No joke here it's in todays Det. News.....Hope they catch those s.o.b.'s because they can ruin our entire fishery here in Michigan. Thanks, AL ><> ><> ><>

I heard it on the radio around 11 0'clock. They said they were testing the feeder creeks/ditches around Little Mack. Thats all I remember them saying. Its just like them closing the beachs and not knowing where the contamination is coming from, then they find out its the local government dumping sewage.

What is "LSC" and "SCS"? How many ppm (parts per million) have been detected in the fish that were tested? More info is needed.

Maybe PETA is doing the dumping to get people to stop fishing. ;)

Dont start more Peta crap!!!

LSC means Lake St Clair. I dont know about CSC. Probably the Clinton river sewer drain, I dont know. What happened was they were going to do spring dredging of some boating canals and during testing they found PCBs that were being dumped from an unregistered drain. It wasnt in fish, it was in the sediment in the canal bottom as I understand it. When they find the culprit, it will be dealt with. As far as effects on the lake, its to early to tell.

Sorry, I should have specified..... Lake St. Clair. The area where the pollution was found is in St.Clair Shores Michigan. Apparently they have found amounts 100 times higher than what they (EPA) consider "safe". I am still trying to gather more info on this dangerous matter. Let you guys know something on Monday. Thanks, Al

Forgot to mention, I'm taking the perch that I caught last Mon. to be tested for toxins, be interesting to see the results. Keep you guy up to date on the outcome. AL

Sedimentary could be decades old, it is unfortunat that industrial dumping was not curbed before it happened but it costmoney and never saved a dime to the culprits. The newer method of dispersing toxics is to mix it into fertilizers and paints thus spreading it everywhere from our gardens, playgrounds, yards and into our homes.

90% + Percent of all canal, river and lakefront homeowners are treating their yards with this stuff, which is full herbicides and pesticides! Smart thing to do is to blow all the fresh cut grass out into the water saves money and time on the bagging. To sum it up it used to be industry that crapped all over the world, welcome the 21st century where the golf course mentality in populated areas has passed that dreaded industrial pay to pollute scheme. The way it looks is not the way it is. With the water levels being what they are. We should all get ready for all the weed choked canal riparins ripping every taxpayers #$$ for a quick fix errr...release if you get my pun.

Al it more then a shame, it's killing people.
