Contact " Wacky Walleye Guide Service ". Dale Strossheim ( not sure
on the spelling ) is one of the best guides in the area. He specialty
is trophy walleye! I'm sure you can find his number on WC or call
Sturgeon Bay information. Good luck!

Another suggestion for April. Try Marinette, the other side of Green Bay. Last April we caught huge Walleyes (up to 32" )in April with a bonus. We caught as many 7-15 lb Brown Trout as we did walleyes. Wait until you get a 12lb Brown on a rod with an inline board. Pull everything else in, turn around and go after it because it won't come to you.

Marinette in April was the most fun I had all year.

John "Captain Otto" May

Went out with John last year in July. He is professional, competent, and also a native to the area.

Dale is great, but a little out of budget for some.

Hey Mike, them browns are a blast! So let me guess, you were fishing for browns and you ran into a pile of walleyes? We had more fun the first couple times out on the water than we did all year!

I would recommend you get ahold of Capt. Tim Dawidiuk @ fishdoorcounty.com or Capt. Fritz Peterson @ jefishing.com. These two guys will catch fish.

Striker,
If your really interested in finding out about fishing the bay, attend Dales April Walleye School. You will learn alot more through this than going on one charter. It also makes for a nice weekend get away at the resort.
Go to the Sand Bay web site for all the info.

Mike,

I was just wondering if Marinette was a night bite, like Sturgeon Bay, or if you could catch walleyes during daylight. My fishing partner (my wife) is not a night owl!

TP180,

Marinette has a typical walleye bite especially in the spring when the waters are more stained and turbid. Dawn and dusk have both been good times with most of my action coming at dawn until 10:00AM

In April those Walleyes are pouring out of the river. We found them shallow water (5-10 ft) during the day along with the browns, some splake and we even had 3 smallmouth (all over 18"). A lot of fun. My brother-in-law caught walleyes all year at night in front of the river.

If your interested in fishing the bay or across in marinette you might try contacting Doug Schreiber of Hotjigs guide service. I fished with him a couple times last year and had a blast. He a full time guide and we caught a pile of fish during the day and didn't need to go at night. Marinette was a mix bag of Browns, spalke, northerns, and walleyes to 32" had a blast.
