Looking for what launches to use on pool 13 & 14 on the Illinois side and any recommended bait shops?? Are there any places (launches or bait shops)to stay away from???
For Pool 13 you can launch at at Marquette Park on the North edge of Savanna, Illinois. Or you can go 3 miles farther North to Mississippi Palisades State Park. Both of them are good launches. Bait is available everywhere but I get mine at Palisades launch. Only problem with Palisades is the exit channel out of the bay is very narrow. Marked, but narrow. At one point you'll see two PVC pipes only 15' apart that mark the channel. Make sure you have plenty of fuel because services are only available in Savanna and across the river in Sabula, Iowa. If you stay overnight, I highly recommend Seven Eagles Campground. The have a small but new 4 room Motel at $35.00 per and two small cabins at $75.00. My wife and I go there a lot. Great fishing, especially in the backwaters.

For Pool 14, there are launches in Fulton and East Clinton, Illinois. I've never used them so I can't tell you much.
KP is it primarily a wing dam bite for the eyes?? Just need to be pointed in the right direction any help would be appreciated
