well i'm getting somewhat discouraged. i've only caught a few walleyes over the past week. I have gotten out 3 times at different periods and am in a rut.
Water is lower than normal but everything else is someone normal.
Water temperature is 37 degrees.
Temps range from 35-45 degree highs and 20-25 degree lows.
This stretch of the mississippi is man made. in the middle its 8 ft deep and it works its way up to 4-5 ft of water at the shoreline. bottom is pretty much rock.
right now take a foot off that.
i fish to eddies generally throughout the spring and fall fairly easily. the winter comes and i have a hard time. Remember i'm fishing from shore.
file:///C:/Users/MicahK/AppData/Local/Temp/moz-screenshot.jpgThe first pic is an overview.
the 2nd pic i generally fish the front end of the eddie and the back end of the eddie but will also fish every where else in between. I usually have good success with jigs and 3-4" twister tails in october and 1/2 way through november.
the 3rd pic is a little down river from the other spot. there is a shallow spot with a rock outcropping just a little bit west of the bridge on the far right. it creates a big eddie in which the fish will come into spawn. i do well just like the other spot but once again, after the spawn it shuts off.
any ideas? any tips? were are the fish moving to? and if they aren't moving how do i catch them.
I'm quite the novice but am looking to get better. Will hvae more options in a few years when i convince the wife a boat is a necessity..
thanks alot for looking
