When shopping for a new engine, I checked the specs and noticed that the 25 and 30 hp engines had the same bore and stroke. The difference was the 30 had a higher RPM. What is the difference between the two that allows for higher RPM?

....in a 25 to a 30 are usually a combination of carb/throttle body bore, reeds and reed cages ( or valves and cam duration if its 4 stroke), porting- if its a 2 stroke, and sometimes the exhaust can down in the lower unit.

You have to look at the new E-Tech 25 and 30 hp.......top of the line, fast, fuel efficeint and quiet!

Ditto on the E-tec!!! have driven them and it IS a very cool motor. Slowect troller in its class adn extremely fuel efficient.
Hole shot is remarkable and sound is very quiet.
Sounds like they'll be available some time near the first of the year.
