Any one have any experience with this unit? Specifically with issues with the screen washing out in sunlight?
i have had mine since june.absolutely zero problems or complaints.the screen is visible in all light conditions.i'm not saying it is the best out there but for less than $200 it does a good job.

I bought a XOG few months ago. My main reason was that it could use the Lakemaster map chips that my larger GPS unit in my boat also uses. That is a very big plus in my book. Quite often I fish with people who don't have the electronics that I have in my boat. They may not know what the bottom looks like below the boat, but I have a fairly good idea.....
The standalone battery life is only a few hours long. Since I live in an area where new developments are springing up, the road maps are not the best.
I end up spending a fair amount of time in a nursing home "watching" my 98 year old father-in-law sleep. I usually bring the XOG along and can plan some of next years fishing trips, place waypoints, etc. Works great.
It works great in my vehicles and is fun to use even though the maps may not be the latest. I don't use the music options or the picture viewer although I did try it out.
I have seen new units sell for as low as $139 recently.
