For rip jigging I have seen that the bucktail jig is indicated in a number of fishing articles.

Never used this type of jig before. In the Cabela's catalog I see a number of different types. (Striper, basic round, etc.)

There is Gulfstream type that has a torpedo type lead head which I thought was interesting to provide an elongated presentation.

From a weedless standpoint some of the Bass type with the weed guard I thought would be good. However, most of this type (Bass Pro included) are not in the typical walleye colors.

Any suggestions? Head size and color.

Macks Lure, makers of the Smile blade spinner, also produce bucktails in 1/4, and 3/8 oz. You can view them on their website, or call 1-800-525-8737 to request a catalog.

We supply a flathead jig with a ring collar to a distributor in WI. He ties it for Walleye fishing. He sells a lot of them, it is a flat rounded fish like head, has a good surface for detail comes in 3/8 to 1 oz
