The 400 is pretty much the standard for musky. The 200 will work but if you are going to use the reel "strictly" for musky and happen to hook into that... fish of a lifetime.. I think you would be glad you had the line & drag capacity of the 400. Kind of a horse a piece on cost. I have several calcutas and always use the 400 when throwing big stuff. Have fun...

the 400 without a doubt is what you want. The thing that you will find out when casting baits weighing in at multiple ounces to close to a pound is that line less the 80# has a way of breaking if you get a backlash....$20-30.00 sailing 100 yards into the wild blue sound like fun? Anyways, that 80 # PowerPro will fill up that 200 way to fast. Unless you are using it strictly as a specialty(small bait rig) the 400 is what you want.
BTW of my musky reels I like my Calcutta the best.

I will also recommend the 400 for Muskie fishing. I have a few myself and they are the "Shiet" when it comes to Muskie fishing. They are expensive, but you won't regret spending the money after you use it.
Happy Holidays!
