Yep - it's fun making him "pose" for pictures. Here's another.

Man, looks like you got into some great pheasant hunting.
Our birds are down - big time- this year.
Is that a Griffon...or German wired haired Pointer...?

Neither, it's actually a German Drahthaar.
That was in Kansas, and the birds are down there as well. Still managed a pile of them though.

Ooops..I forgot about those.
I have hunted behind the other two ...but have never seen a live Drahthaar.
He looks like he knows what he's doing!!

I find it interesting that these dogs can all look so similar
Up here in the Calgary area I know of a couple of GWP that look
very similar to Griphen Le Griffon , and saw a Cesky- Fousek this year had the same
coat and head ... This guy has been stripped and clipped for the Burr season .
Beauty Dog Wheels ... Our pheasants were down here this year but still did OK.
Looking for a USA trip next year ...Thinking of Western North dakota any other
places in the west with good upland and access ...Thanks DMA

Very Nice looking dogs, I miss my GSP always said I would have a wire of some sort. Very nice
Judging by the winter we are having in ND this year I don't think I'd plan any trips out here for pheasants next year. We found plenty of birds this year, but as all early reports last summer had indicated numbers were down significantly, and we found much of the same in central and Northwest ND during our 08' season which ended last weekend. Right now the only place birds are being found is around farmsteads or where there is feed avalable becase of the significant snow fall and extreme cold temps we've had in December. Next year is not looking like it'll be a steller year! Now if you want to walk mile after mile and enjoy some beutifull ND scenery, then by all means come on up.
And just in, it looks like another 4-8" for thursday, uuuhhhhhggg!! spring won't come soon enough this year!
