I have a BottomLine 1200 in the back of my boat (tiller) and just bought a Pinpoint 7420 from Grampa Joe a month or so ago. I'm putting this on the bow of the boat.
Anyway, the guy at the dealership said as long as the transducers are more than 6 inches a part, interference was not going to happen.
I know Grampa Joe explained this to me once and I tend to believe him, but is this guy at the dealership even remotely close? Or am I going to be screwed if I listen to him?
Thanks,
NC

"is this guy at the dealership even remotely close?"
It might depend on what the definition of the word "is" is.lol
Although I have never used these units in that situation, I would doubt they will be totally free of interference in your setting.

Steve,
Thanks for the info. If I'm fishing with a partner and we want to have both units on at the same time, do you have any idea "how much" trouble this will cause? I know its a hard question to answer, but I'm just wondering if there is a chance in heck I can use them at the same time.
By the way, just talked to the technician 5 minutes ago and he said since they are 2 different frequencies, no problems at all!
I'm getting a little nervous.
Thanks,

To a point the tech guy might be right. BUT, I have been through the "different frequency" thing and never have seen it perfect. That said... I have never seen two units interfere with each other where you couldn't read one or the other. It just can be VERY irritating to watch....with my demeanor anyway.
