Howdy,

Like many of you I have recently come into the possession of some leaking Gulp Alive containers. I have moved the contents of one container into a canning jar but still have another POS container of Gulp. Unfortunately I only have one canning jar.

Here is the question:

Can you mix two different colors of Gulp Alive in the same container without having the colors bleed together? The colors are Black Shad and Chartreuse Shad.

Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

Take care, and have a great holiday.

Sincerely,

Ruddgier

do you guys take off the inside seel all the way? maybe that's why you guys have leak issues....i just peel it back enough to get a bait out, then lay it back down and close the lid....never had a problem

When you first open a jar of it, take a sharp knife and cut the center of the seal out. Leave the seal on the edge of the jar, that acts as the gasket..... Try that.

Yep like they said, you can also use Tupperware for the ones that leak

Howdy,

Thanks for the replies. Interestingly I did leave the seal intact. I cut a small "X" in the center of the seal and always kept the lid tight. It still leaked even though it was never put on it's side. Fortunately I kept it in the front live well and always had it in a zip lock bag. I must have a bad jar.

Take care,

Ruddiger

It's not a bad jar. I talked to a Berkley rep about that problem and they are aware of it. Believe it or not, his suggestion was to purchase the leakproof tupperware. I wouldn't mind the leak so much if it didn't stick so bad!

Yes, you can mix colors and shapes in the same tub.

You can mix and match Gulp/Gulp Alive colors and shapes at will.

I really like this container, $3 at Wal-Mart.

Go to Wal Mart or Target and buy some containers called Snapware containers.
No more spills!
Yes you can mix any Gulp..alive or regular...in the Alive juice.

I see now that Jim Carroll has a picture of some snapware.

I have talked to Berkley reps about mixing baits. They have told me mixing will not hurt the baits but the darker colors can change the lighter colors.

That is true... thanks for pointing it out.

I've never had a problem with colors mixing. The first thing I did when I got my first tub was put ALL my Gulp stuff in there. Might as well recharge it all, plus it's a great place to store it. Number 1 on the list right now, though, is to get some leakproof container to keep in the boat. I'd rather have a larger tub of some sort to store it all in instead of the bucket it comes in.
