Had a trolling battery that would not take a charge and was only a year old. I dumped out the acid in a bucket, then added water to about half full. Then added a whole box of baking soda to the battery. Sloshed this around for a few minutes then let set for an hour. Then I rinsed out the battery with water real well. Then put the acid back in and charged. After 8 hours of charge it still needed more so left it for 24 hours. After th:)at the battery was just like new.

Uh what did you do with the original contents and the stuff you flushed out?

Quite simple put it in a plastic pail and took it to the landfill which has a special place for that kind of stuff.
JMW,
I am glad that it worked. However, I would recommend that you smply return the battery for a warrently replacement and get on with your life.
It is quite likely that there is an underlying problem with the battery that will likely get to you again.
Good luck.
