Does anyone know what the format of their LCX 15 compatible maps are.
My unit is in the middle of South Dakota right now, and Im pretty sure that all the maps that work with it are at5 format.

I just bought mapcreate6, so I could build some more maps for my x15, and all of the maps seem to come out in a LCM format.

When I loaded all of the 6 cds for mapcreate, it appeared that they were at5 files.

Does anyone have their MMC card handy to check what format their maps are?

I need the boat to fire it up (Which is not with me now). If I remember right, its the same format as the H2O. Get a H2O from someone nearby to run the card.

I have a H20, well, actually I own a H20, but it is on my buddys hands right now.

I think you are right, that it will work in a H20, but I still am doubting it will work in the X. Time will tell, as Im headed out that way after Xmas for some bird hunting and will try the mmc card at that time. I'm sure my maps that I use now, are at5 .

I called Lowrance after I posted, and they said the X would convert the lcn files.

I sure hope so.

Thanks

I have the 15 on my wifes Poontoon , It required the latest download update , but it runs the Lakemaster mn chip and all the mapcreate stuff just fine. Check the lowrance site the latest update , if they don,t have them listed I may stll have it on a mmc chip

Craig,

I went to LEi download site, and they have one update for the LCX 15 still online, its v3.70, I beleive. They say there, that this update is only for newer models of x15s, that say :

"Warning: This update is only applicable for later models of the LCX-15MT. When you power on the unit, if the loading screen states "We Lead. We Find. You Win.", then this update applies to your LCX-15MT. If you do not see that statement on the loading screen, please do not attempt to use this update - instead, please download Version 3.6.0."

I'm sure my unit does not say that, When I click on the the version 3.6.0, it says this:

Warning: This update is only applicable for early models of the LCX-15MT. When you power on the unit, if the loading screen states "We Lead. We Find. You Win.", then this update does not apply to your LCX-15MT. If you see that statement on the loading screen, please do not use this update - instead, please download Version 3.7.0.

Needless to say, I'm quite gun shy about loading any updates at this time.

any suggestions, anyone?

I do believe that I had to use version v3.6.0 ,if it is still available i would not hesitate to use it to update your unit . I may still have it on a chip somewhere . I won,t be able to look for it until Monday I am gone for the holidays . e-mail me next week I should find it or not by Tue .

I tried using the maps from mapcreate 6, in the lcm format and my unit does not recognize them. I checked my software version, and it is 3.6.0.

The maps that do work in my unit are at5. files.

I installed the mmc chip into my H2O, and it worked fine there.

I'm stuck..

anybody have any other ideas?

Try changing the file extension from .lcm to .at5 on your computer. This works sometimes in other situations and I don't know why.

Doc, Thanks for posting! Still havent heard anything from Warren all winter. Ive emailed him, phoned him, etc. Its not like him to not be online hehehe.

Anyway, to make a long story short, my problem was in the unit at the card drawer interface. Evidently, it wasnt making contact internally and wouldnt allow the card to show up.

I bought a new power cord at Cabelas, so I could monkey around with it here in the office, rather than running 3 1/2 hours and testing things in the boat in cold weather.

With the cord, I was able to sit down and see exactly what was going on with the unit. Yes, it will read the mapcreate6 lcm maps, so I'm
happy now.

Thanks all that tried to help.
