Boat: 2007 Lund 1600 Explorer
Locater: Lowrance 113C-HD

The transducer is mounted per the instructions in the owner's manual but I loose the bottom when I am up and running over 10 mph.

What is the solution to this problem? I have relocated the transducer but it did not solve the problem.

Does anyone offer an after market bracket that would help solve this problem? I seem to remember reading a post where someone made a V shaped aluminum bracket that fit the shape of the transducer.

When all placement possibilites are exhausted, try another transducer, worked for me.

Did you turn on the shallow water setting?

did you look over the transom as the boat is running at speed and make sure that the t/d is in an area of smooth water flow with no bubbles?

If you installed the transducer according to Lowrance instructions, then you have the transducer centerline even with and parallel to the bottom of the boat. My sonars hold the bottom signal on-plane much better if I have the nose of the transducer tilted slightly up compared to the parallel position. Both the 200KHz and 50/200 KHz Lowrance transducers can be mounted such that there's a bit of play in the transducer angle. If that causes the transducer nose to tilt down a bit at speed, you'll have a lot of trouble with cavitation under the transducer face, causing signal loss.

I switched over to an Airmar P66 transducer. Dual frequency, temperature and paddlewheel speed sensor, plugs right into the Lowrance sonars, no play in the mount and a high quality transducer. If your transducer is faulty and Lowrance won't replace it for free, you'll find the Airmar and the Lowrance dual frequency transducer cost roughly the same. Check it out.

Had that problem over a five year period, and five new transducers. Come to find out it was the connections that were giving me the problem. Worked with Lowrence the whole time and not once did they indicate there was a problem with them going bad. All they wanted was to sell another transducer. Each time they worked for about 3 months then started losing bottom. Did solve the problem though bought a Humminbird and just love it.

I'm going with a bad transducer. It's amazing how many transducers have crapped out from this company.

Check the wire @ the base of the transducer there may be a rub mark in the line and I had to replace the transducer
