Doing some planning for the new year in regard to tournament fishing, and I am wondering if anyone knows about Max HP size for boats fishing the 2009 FLW Walleye Tour. I know that for 2008 the rules stated it was 250 HP, but with boats such as the Ranger 621 now having a 300 HP rating, will it be out of compliance for the tour having HP over 250. Putting a new boat together, and it will have a 300 HP unit on it; am considering coming back into the tour, as long as the engine would acceptable in regard to HP size.
Happy New Year Everyone and Be Glad Your Here

Not only FLW but new AIM tour came out yesterday to members max hp 275 for their new tour
What is the max rating for the ProV2025 and the Tundra 21' ? I know what the 621 Max is already..Wonder why AIM didn't set the Max at 250HP??

The AIM rules will be discussed tomorrow at the owner's meeting. This was a initial draft that went to owners. I'm sure the 275 rating will be changed to 300 or Coast Guard allowance. Many of us have run 300's for a few years.

Cool, thanks for the info Gary. Setting the max at 300 will certainly open up the field to any hull/motor combo available and hopefully allow the sponsor field to once again be wide open..
Good luck with the maiden season..

I was hoping the FLW would review their hp rating rule for 2009 season.
