What happened to the ability to fish special regs waters ? if lake mich why not Bay de Noc ? oh, forgot the price tag. sorry. Green Bay has deeper pockets. Too bad BDN would have been interesting. But GB will be too.

NE winds at 15-20 mph, 5-6 footers , one guy holding the fish on the bump board, one guy holding the camera , who's steering the boat ? let alone stay on board. Hopefully they don't pull a SWC or a NTC and decide too put those fish in the livewell till they get in the calm river to take the pics, and dump the fish in the warm water.

620, are you fishing the AIM events this year as a pro or am/co/? Do you have a vested intrest in BDN being a venue?

BTW, Juls, thanks for keeping everyone up to date.

pro side of GB event. Just not sure the logistics of big water was thought through very well, i will tether my CO in case of big seas, lol. Yes a vested intrest in BDN, maybe you never fished a tourney up here with the slots, and the 20lb bags, with the CPRR format the bags would rival that of Lake Erie, wouldn't that be interesting ? sure would be fun. Hope you get over yourself.

AIM July 4th Holiday Event

I don't get it. Why on a holiday? I know we (tournament fishermen) are not liked in general by the average Joe fishermen. So now AIM plans an event during which alot of local anglers are going to be on the water for the holiday. Does anyone at the top of the AIM organization have any common sense? You should be trying to avoid conflict w/ the local anglers vs scheduling when you know for sure there will be alot of
both pleasure boaters and fishermen on the water.

dave,
do you always have conflicts with other fisherman/pleasure boaters while fishing tournaments? if you do, you might be doing something wrong.i am not saying that it don't happen, but to say that tournament fisherman are not liked in general by joe fisherman is not accurate. i am just a average joe fisherman and i don't have any beef with any tournament anglers. why the holiday? lots and lots of people. so far all the aim tournaments coincide with some type of festival. give aim a chance, they have alot invested and are not taking things lightly and shooting from the hip. they are trying something new to the tournament world and hopefully it will work out well for them..........tom fellegy

To the negative posts on this thread,

Why would you criticize this Tourney in January? Green Bay in July is truly awesome!!! Big fish and lots of fish. How do I sign up to fish as a pro? BDN would have slot limits, so I am much in favor of staying on the Bay. I also think that expecting 5 to 6 footers is crazy pessimistic. If it blows, there will be fishable waters somewhere. It is part of fishing. Worrying about the locals is even more ridiculous. There is so much fishable water that adding 200 boats can go unnoticed. The Bay just keeps getting better for walleyes, so I think everyone should be ecstatic to fish there. 4th of July is my anniversary or I would be there for sure, but I love my wife more than Tournament fishing.

Now Jack, maybe it's time to "surprise" her with an anniversary getaway trip to Green Bay! I got away with taking my new bride, and my boat, on a honeymoon to Kentucky Lake. Heck, for the last dozen years, I've been away on my week-long trip up North over Mothers Day weekend, and have lived to talk about it.
Bring her along!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Anglers Insight Marketing Announces The Site Of Their July 2009 AIM Pro Walleye Series™ Event.

Plymouth, WI – January 5th, 2009- Anglers Insight Marketing LLC™ (AIM™) announced today that Green Bay, Wisconsin will host the July 2009 AIM Pro Walleye Series tournament.

Anglers Insight Marketing (AIM) will conduct a series of four Pro-Am walleye fishing tournaments in 2009: the AIM Pro Walleye Series™. Each tournament will host fields of 100 of the top walleye fishing Professionals and 100 Co-anglers.

AIM is pleased to announce that the July 2009 tournament will be held in Green Bay, Wisconsin. This “AIM Pro Walleye Series” event will be held July 2 - 4, 2009. The tournament will be held in conjunction with the “Fire Over The Fox” Fourth of July Celebration, a very large regional festival that annually attracts as many as 100,000 visitors.

Rick Pruski is the Director of Event Pro, the organization that plans the annual “Fire Over The Fox” events. Rick welcomes the AIM Pro Walleye Series “I am very excited to work with AIM and anticipate this tournament being a fantastic component to our successful long-standing family festival. We strive to bring a diverse platform of events and entertainment to the “Fire Over The Fox” and being on the water like we are it looks to be a perfect fit for us and AIM”.

Green Bay is a diverse fishery offering a world class walleye population. AIM Pros will have the options of structure fishing and open water trolling over hundreds of square miles of Lake Michigan. The Green Bay area will be recognized as a prime destination for trophy walleyes as well as multi-species angling.

The AIM Pro Walleye Series tournaments will all be three day events. The full field of 100 boats (Professionals and Co-anglers) will fish the first two days. The Professional provides the boat and all the fishing tackle and bait for the day. Each day the Co-angler will be paired with a different Professional and have the opportunity to learn “secret” techniques. A group of the top Professionals – based on cumulative weight over the first two days – will fish the third day of the tournament. These Pros will be paired with ten Co-anglers selected by random drawing.

Anglers Insight Marketing, LLC is a unique tournament organization which is owned by stockholders, the majority of which are active Professional walleye anglers. AIM Professionals are among the “All Stars” of professional walleye fishing, with cumulative HUNDREDS of years of tournament experience, including countless tournament victories, series championships, and Angler of the Year titles. This insight and knowledge is now being employed to provide the finest tournament experience for the participants, and the maximum exposure for the host tournament sites and corporate partners.

You know whats really funny about green bay and worrying about the other fisherman? If you remove from the water the guys that are prefishing for a tournament or are tournament guys who are just out there fishing, it would surprise me if there was 50 boats on the bay, and thats the whole bay from sturgeon bay all the way to green bay. Thats not including perch fisherman, just guys who are out trolling for walleye.

for having lots of opinion on the matter you haven't paid attention:

The CPRR format would be tough on big water, true lots of big fish in July out of GB most of which are in the big water, not protected coves, it's not a matter of fishable water for fishing but as for picture taking and recording length, i hope it don't blow, i WILL be out there. BDN has no slots with this format so not sure what your talking about. and its 100 boats not 200.

I heard from a little birdy at the Minneapolis boat show today that the 4th stop for AIM will be on Winni in MN.

Perfect for this format would be Saginaw Bay. Through the ice. Trade those Rangers, Lunds, and other walleye catching platforms for a portable shelter and a quad or sled. Catch, photo, release. Now is the time. Unfortunate from year to year we don't know how well or when the ice sets up for angling. Why don't you AIM boys come on up to the Bay for the Shiver on the River contest? Looking forward to watching the events next year. Best of luck to the Aim Trail. Later.
