I have, they're kinda olde skool but some guys still use em. I think you're going to use the 113's more than anything.

I think Steve Fellegy runs them. Send him a e-mail or he will be on here sooner or later. He will be able to answer all your questions. He swears by them!

Just picked one up myself late fall from a fellow WCer. Bench tested nicely, it is kinda old school but so am I:smirk:Looking forward to installing it this spring. It should be much better than the X-85 that came with the boat.

I think they are made up around Fargo North Dakota. Best thing would be to send a message to Fellegy, he will have all the contact info.

I've tried to find a Genetron for a long time now without success. I'd like to try one.

I know where one is but you would have to get it refurbished if he wants to sell it

I just bought another one this week. I should get it this Friday. They are getting hard to come by, watch ebay and do a google search, they do pop up.Dick told me that he has parts to support these units for years.
Grampa Joe is correct they are old school, easy to operate. I hope the open water performance is as good as they claim.

I have a Genetron that works just fine that I would possibly be willing to sell. It came on the 620T ranger I bought last year. Give me a call if you have an interest 320-589-0174.

The Genetron unit was obsolete the day it came out and was way overpriced and over hyped at 2000.00 dollars plus. It is the 8 track tape player of the fishing sonars. Only a fool would spend any amount over a dime to refurbish it. IT is worth more by the pound at the scrap yard. Use your time wisely on EBay and spend your money on locator with 2000 technology.

Please tells us how you know this? Did you or do you work in their service center? Have you reverse engineered the GT-9? What type of data do you have to support your claims? With out data you are just another opinion.

I try to respect all opinions but I think you are a tid bit strong on your opinion Realist. I'd be curious if you ever used/owned one. I actually think the Genetron has played a very nice role for years in deeper water, especially in weeds where separation is critical. It was phenominal on the Mille Lacs mud flats where eyes lay on the bottom. It may look like old technology but I have to admit it is a very effective piece of equipment. Whether you think it was over priced or not I guess is a personal opinion. I can just testify it has been a very successful resource for me. I'm just a regular ol' fisherman, don't know the owner of Genetron or have any connections/sponsorships. I know a few guys that have a lot of passion/swore by it for years like Fellegy and Steir. I value peoples opinions that make a living off their ability to catch fish, especially when they are sharing thoughts on product they are not sponsored by.
