I have been trying to catch up on my freshwater skills since returning to Pa from Fla 18 months ago,The Schuykill River is very close to my home. I was out yesterday and tried large shiners on a plain hook red bead and split shots, not even a thump all day. I read a story this morn about floating rapalas, using fireline,( I do use it) and a snap. But what the article failed to mention was the the size of the floating rapalas (9-11-13 ??) also should you use any shot with these or does it depend on water depth, do they hang in fast current or where the whirl pools swirl in circles or dead pools ?? they say the walleyes are eating young of the year trout and examinations of the stomach is proof of this, so would the rainbow trout rapala pattern be a good one ?? any help on this great winter time fun would be greatly appreciated, thanks so much
