while killing time here this morning waiting to head out the door to work the muskie expo in MN, i am enjoying reading through some of the clean joke posts and read your post regarding the golfing joke. i wanted to share a true story with everyone that includes some of the same participants that your joke has. here goes; this is not a joke!
my partner and i were fishing the Lake City MWC last September. after day one, we had a reasonable finish and needed to just hold a similar weight on day 2 to hold onto a respectable finish and ultimately cash a check. with a five fish day on day 2, it appeared that we would have been in the top 15 without much of a problem. we fished hard and really had a tough bite going. we were only occasionally catching fish, but they were walleyes and they were weighing fairly well. we had a long run and it was very rough conditions. we left ourselves enough time to return, but did not waste any time heading in. we were blasting across lake pepin near the point of the state park with approximately five minutes to get in and an AWESOME LOOKING bald eagle flew over carrying what appeared to be a really nice sized walleye or sauger. i thought to myself, "wow, wouldn't it be great if the eagle dropped the fish in our boat to go with the four fish we had on day 2."LOL just a second later, the eagle lost its' hold on the fish and dropped it from the sky and it missed our boat by only a short distance. i wonder if the MWC would have considered that a legal fish!!! thought you might enjoy. have a good day. p.s. we ended up doing pretty well without the eagles fish!
