Did the WWA have a South Dakota division last year? If so, and if you fished any of their tounaments could you please comment on how you liked their format and did most of their events fill or could you get in at any time?

We had a great group of excellent anglers last year. The tourneys where well managed and there was some very close competition for the top spots. The numbers of teams per event where small but the competition was great. There has been a huge amount of interst for this year so I anticipate larger numbers this year. On the first event at Chamberlain we'll follow a large tourney that has almost filled. The guys I've talked to have stated they plan on staying and fishing the WWA then following day. That should make for a full field. I plan on fishing both events at Chamberlain also. The director from last year is going to fish the circuit this year. At this point in time the tourneys will be handled by Steve Poll for the season. Check out their website for tourney dates. You can link from the tourney page here at Walleye Central.

We had a blast last year, eh Dutchman? :) Not a lot of people, but we had a lot of fun. The guys that fished were very good, and the competition was very tight all year, which made it a lot of fun. I personally prefer the sunday only format, means less time off work, and more time to prefish, which for me, usually means a bad finish, but the odds are on my side, so I'll keep doing it :) I'm guessing we'll have a much fuller field this year. USFA is gone, and WWA is growing.

Personally, I'm real excited about this season, I think it'll be alot of fun.

If you have other questions, feel free to email me, I'll answer as best I can.

Dutchman, Eyez, I couldn't agree with you more. That's why I'm fishing the SD WWA this year instead of running it. The competitors were class acts, and based on the interest so far, the fields will grow significantly. Couple that with a still healthy competitive desire and the fact my 16 year old son Ian wants to fish the tournaments and it's a no brainer. I'm fishing again. There's no doubt the WWA will continue to grow. The first few years they experienced growing pains like all new endeavors. The SD WWA Circuit should be great in 2002, as will all the other WWA regions. I look forward to seeing everybody at Chamberlain and meeting all the new circuit anglers. Let's go catch some 'eyes.
