I just read the Kavajecz chat. He said no fish will be taken to the stage.

So then the discussion about anglers being allowed to take photo fish to the stage to allow any media to get photos is a moot. Is that correct?

I'm guessing by the word "moot" you refer to "having little value or meaning".

You are partially correct. If you were a reporter and were at the weigh-in's just to take a picture of some fish, there will be an open tank with a few fish that were brough in during the prefish so that little kids can see them and all of that good stuff--as most family festivals do.

It is a trade off of the CRR that we will not be bringing fish in. The great tradeoff is that we can go to great bodies of water and show what the fisherie is capable of. Communities that are signed up are more excited about this aspect than the tourney itself. The community of Green Bay wants to be known as more than just the Packers. They have a great rescource that is worth many millions of dollars to their local economy. This is a phenominal way to exploit that rescource.

I could go on all night about the positives but understand one thing--- Last time there was a tourney in GB in July there were hundreds of dead fish which translated into bad publicity---that will be eliminated under CRR.

Kind Regards,
Jesse Buechel

So smarmy attitude aside, no fish will be brought in for the possible spectators to see or for the anglers to be allowed to have photos taken with fish?

This is just fine, but the word previously was that there would be "hero" fish brought to the stage for photo purposes.

Oh, Jesse, the moot I speak of is refering to having no practical importance or being irrelevant.

It was just hard to tell in the sentence that it was in. I was just making sure you didn't mean "debatable" or "doubtful".

It was just a very confusing sentence that it was used in.

Sorry,

Jes

Personally, I think all tourneys should have to be "catch and EAT" tourneys. I think we need to show the general public and the PETA and vegetarians that fish tastes great and are a lot of fun to Catch and Eat....

You could do that on certain bodies of water like Lake Erie. Ohio DNR mandates all Lake Erie tournaments as harvest tournaments. The catch is usually donated to a group like the Ohio Veteran's Home or some children's homes. Having a big "fish fry" as part of the event would be awesome - especially the ones that are tied into some other kind of festival that is happening anyways.

NDFisherman I like what you are laying down. If you want to promote tournaments for spectators maybe we could fillet the fish up and have a walleye cook off following each days weigh-in. All kidding aside the AIM foremat sounds interesting, especially for July and August months where we do tend to loose more fish.

Just imagine,

Parsons and Kavajecz on stage, a crowd of ten at the boat ramp waiting to see fish. Well, no fish for them to hold up, but a few in an aquarium for the kiddies to view.

Wait for it, there is a large flat screen to few the days action, except its sunny and the crowd can't see the screen.

So then what, the AIM MC walks around with a laptop to show the people what the fish look like online? tehe
