I need to put new tires on my 150 4x4. I have Goodyear on there now, 50,000+ miles so far. Anyone have suggestions on any better set to go with? Need quiet and smooth as possible. Not much need for off-road. Thanks:)

Michelens XLT's are great tires. Not cheap though.

I just bought a set of Michelin Cross Terrain SUV tires from Sam’s Club, for my Silverado. I went to this site, http://www.tirerack.com/tires/index.jsp and used a feature they have called “Compare Selected Tires.” Don’t let the SUV part confuse you because they work equally as well on a truck.

I have run Cooper Discover Tires on my 4x4s for years and have had excellent luck with them. Just remember to rotate when you
should.

I get 60k+ miles out of a set. If I remember correctly, somewhere
in the ballpark of $260 - $280 for a set of 4.

Firestone Steeltex A/T gets my vote. Very smooth (especially for a 10-ply) and quiet ride. Also has plenty of traction when needed. Impressd so far!

Sometime in the last six months, Consumer Reports had a test/rating of tires that included SUV on & off road results. I think that the Toyo Open Country rated highest in highway tires, and the Hankook was highest in off-road. The magazine should be available at your local library, so check the ratings and comments for yourself.
Hankooks are Korean made, and the wholesale price must be quite low. All the small tire dealereships near my home carry that brand now.

I'd recommend Michelin LTX. Switched to these from Goodyear. Smooth Quiet on the highway yet I can still take them off-road (M/S). They have been wearing well also. I like them a lot more than the Goodyear, were only a few bucks more. They do a good job on snow & ice also.
