Is the lowrance 100 GPS good for a beginer?

That unit will get you from A to B and back just as good as the fancier, more expensive ones will. I use one of the cheapest, Lowrance 310, because even I can figure it out. And I AM of "beginner" when it comes to GPS. Just do the basics, using the plot screen, and you'll be ready for the Navy in no time.
I have the globalmap 100 and it works very well. It can be a little hard to read when the lake gets rough. That's the only negative I have with the unit. Overall I like it. Bob

I love my Lowrance 100. I think it's easier to use than the garmin 12. + I really like the map feature. 1/2 hour with the instruction book and you will be all set. I would highly reccomend this purchase at a budget price.
