Just wondering if anyone has used Shakespeares linecounters. They appear to have a larger spool capacity than the Daiwa 27. Don't get me wrong I love my 27's but thought the Shakespeare might be a good option for loading up leadcore and about half the price. If anyone has used these reels let me know

I use them on Erie,no problems with them. I think they are a good deal for the price. Bob

Hookin,

I use the Daiwa SG27LC and SG47LC, Shakespeare Tidewater 30 and Okuma MAGDA 30 and the only problem I have had with any of these reels in the past three years has been with the drag on the Daiwa Sg27LC believe it or not. I know that this is the exception rather than the rule because the Daiwa otherwise has been a rock solid reel. I have used the Tidewaters with lead core and would recommend it especially at its $40 price tag!
