I have a 1964 aluminum Crestliner, that needs to be painted. Does anyone know of a place which paints aluminum boats in the area of Southeastern Wisconsin? The boat was my Dad's and holds alot of centimental value for me. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Painted my boat 4 years ago. Still looks great. I'm a professional painter w/ 13 years under my belt.

Went with a Korlar primer in black. This is a DuPont product that is emersable and bonds to alumanium very well. It should be around 40-50 bucks a gallon.

The two coats of Dupont's Emron over the top. 120 a gallon. High temperature and chemical resistance

A few pointers
1. the black primer bonds better than a white to the metal
2. the Emron is designed to go on thin any more than 2 mils thick and it will sag. Use multiple thin coats.
3. both of these products are two part epoxies. Very temp. sensitive during application.

Any auto body shop in your area should be able to help. Just giving you what to look for. If you hire it done make sure they use a product that is IMMERSABLE or semi-immerasble if it is not going on the bottom.

Good luck.

Have you tried calling you local autobody shops? They would probably do it.
