My buddy had one and he took me out a couple of times. Never again will you see me in one of those beast. Not only are they slow and a pain to drive they are no good int he snow unless you have tracks on them. He has owned his for years now and bought a sled and 4 wheeler to use ice fishing. Now he only takes it moose hunting in the swamps.

A good friend has one, an 8-wheeler with the tracks (and cleats). As mentioned, for deep snow, the tracks are a big improvement. We made several trips to Lake Simcoe for perch using it, worked good. He had a cab made for his, for better weather protection. They are big, pretty slow, and a little tough to handle around pressure cracks, etc. He did put his through the ice on Saginaw Bay (in shallow water), and it would not climb out on it's own, even with the cleats and tracks, but it did float. He had to climb out, wade the water, (again, luckily it was very shallow) and found some help. He had the winch on the front, hooked it to a 4-wheeler with some guys helping it to pull and it climbed out. Didn't need much of boost, just a little. He eventually made a anchor type of thing that could be put down an auger hole that he could hook the winch to. Luckily he never has had to use it, but we did some experimenting with it, and it would work okay if he ever had to.

We had to do the same thing when we went thru the ice it was horrible to try to get the thing out. Anyway I would never recommend an argo to anyone for those above mentioned reasons.
