Do speaker magnets effect gps pucks

I am thinking of putting a speaker very close to where the gps puck is... I thought I heard the magnets will have an adverse effect on the function of my gps unit... Any thoughts?

Radio waves - not affected - at least noticeably

Lay a big magnet next to a handheld and see :)
