Has anyone heard if Lund has details out about their 09 Spring Catch program. Boat shows have started. Other manufacturers are advertising theirs. Nothing on the Lund web page.

lund has decided that they are offering $200 dollars off select models. not what I call a spring promo. Gonna bite them in the butt. we as a dealership have chosen to match it but still not much.

Thanks for the info. That's sure not very competitive against what other manufacturer's are offering.

Spring Catch or any rebates are nice but not the main reason to purchase one over the other. Last year for Lund it was 1 comfort ride seat & ped and 1 cup holder & 1 rod holder. Total value of around $300 by my estimate.

Rebates are nice, we all like them, but we need to remember most of the time it's a marketing gimmick. Nothing is really free, and any rebate that is planned in advance surely has been built into the original boat pricing. Of course there are exceptions, like some of the truck deals that were offered when gas was $4.00/gallon, but usually the boat rebate deals are planned out well in advance and presented to the buying public every winter in an attempt to get the buyers to make an early decision. I think if one keeps that in mind when looking to buy the boat, the lack of a rebate is easier to swallow. How much is Alumacraft offering again?

I think Alumacraft is offering up to $1,500. Kind of prorated depending on model/price of boat. So is G3. The G3 model that competes with the model of Lund that I am going to get is $1,500 off. I am still going to go with a Lund, however from a marketing standpoint, in a slow economy, customer perception is important. The other thing that is kind of interesting to me is that most of Lund's competitors have announced their rebate programs a few weeks ago and they have them on their website. They appear to be aggessive in their marketing. Lund seems to be keeping it a secret? Not knocking Lund, because thats what I am going to buy.

Even last spring you could save some money by going with other boats but I still pick a Lund and am very pleased I did. No matter what the end user is paying one way or another for any rebates or promotions. IMHO
