Interested in the .54 cal percussion hunter. Anybody have experience with this rifle ?. . . pros/cons. . . how does it shoot, and out to what reasonable distance.

Try a "Google" or "Yahoo" search for muzzle loader or black powder forums. I'm no black powder shooter, but what from I've read the Lyman is considered to be a good rifle. If I recall correctly, the Hunter model has the fast twist rifling suitable for conical or sabot bullets.
