A theft has occurred in In Clear lake Ia. A large tackle bag of crank baits has been stolen from the bow of my freinds boat . Estimated 1000.00 + in baits. It was stolen today. In clear lake. I'm taking a shot in the dark hoping the crimnal does not have a computer.. If any body hears of any body trying to sell a bunch of cranks discount "PLEASE" Contact me or Steve at steven8@frontiernet.com or eye_guide@hotmail.com I'm sure there will be a reward for the return of the baits. Hey Coma, did anyone else lose anything? Where was Steve Staying, by the way who's he fishing the tournament with? Can you give a better description of the bag containing the baits? I would go look through the back of every truck and through the windows of every vehicle at Macintosh woods, and all the parking lots. I'd come and help but have son's graduation receptions today and tomorrow. Boy that sucks, hope he gets them back.

I beleive it is a carry on type sports bag type . I think it was black and green. Not sure though and steve is on the lake fishing the tourny so I cannot reach him. I think thats is all that was stolen.

Coma, just one potential correction on Steve's mail address. I have internet thru frontier and the e-mail address should read @frontiernet.net .... I live in the area so I'll keep my eyes and ears open. Hope the stuff shows up.

Hey Guys,

I hope the stuff turns up too. I shudder t think a fellow tournament competitior could be the suspect here.

I also had the same thing happen a few years back. I had stopped for a bite on the way back from a weekend outing, and someone grabbed a duffel from out of my boat.

As sick as Steve must feel now, wait till his insurance company gets hold of him! I was told by my (former agent/company) that, "No one has that much stuff." I asked him if he wanted to see waht was left.

I hope this has a happy ending..........R

Exactly why I opened up every box in my bag and took pictures in addition to the inventory list I try to keep. Luckily my insurance guy fishes some, so he understands. $1000 isn't hard at all to accumulate.

LAST EDITED ON May-21-00 AT 09:22AM (CST)[p]Hey Smitty,

I now have a video that I update about 2 times a year, or every time I call a catalog and drop 200!:-)

Keeps the new insurance man honest, but he is a good one anyway.

Good luck......R

I have a special notation on my policy for my tackle boxes. I don't even want to think of losing my salmon box - over 400 spooons! Scary what that stuff adds up to if you buy it all peak season/full price. Hope you find it!!
