This year i thought i would try using two lures off a dipsy, i have read that it can be done but i want to know what type of lures i could use. Would it work with a 3 way using a ripstik and a stinger spoon, or could i use a shallow shad rap and a spoon, or is this just asking for trouble would i be better sticking to one lure only off a dipsy.
thanks to anyone who can help...james.

You have the right ideal. You have to use a diving bait on the bottom side of the 3 way and a spoon on the top. Works good to see what the fish are wanting and once you start to see a pattern I usaully switch to just one bait. I've also run the dipsey just like I would a single bait but attach a line :via eye swivel> to the lock down screw on the bottom side of the dipsey.Bottom bait has to be a diver bait.I have found Rip Sticks work well for this.Make sure it is running staight for best results.

James I have done it exactly as you discribe, but to be honest it is more a problem than it is worth. You spend a lot of time doing the old untangle routine.

Murphy's Law will probably rear it's ugly head with two lures. I can't even begin to think of all the things that could go wrong, so you have to balance that against the advantages before you try it. Might get you on funniest home videos. If it works let us know.

James,
a "three way" from a planer board might work better. Use a 3 way swivel and tie on about a 3' leader with say, a deep diving reefrunner. tie on another leader about 4' with a stinger spoon attached.

I agree with Denied. But it sure is fun trying to net a doubleheader.A real circus.
