Hello I have a question on mounting a couple of more speakers on my 2003 Lund Pro V 1900. It came from the factory with two speakers up by the bow. However it's hard to hear from the back of the boat without having it blaring in the front. Has anyone added two more speakers on the consoles for the back? Would this be too much stress on the battery?

I never had problems doing that, auto/marine speakers generally take very little power, least the ones that I've seen.

Personally, I wouldn't think twice about it. The draw from the extra speakers is basically nothing, especially compared to all the other electronics in the boat.

I plan on doing the same to 1900 Pro V this spring.

You may want to match size and specs of the front speakers. Grampa Joe suggests on another post here that 6X9s draw too much power which causes the receiver to blow its circuit board, but if want the 6X9s you should add an amplifier.

Also, check your receiver to see if it has outputs for 2 more speakers, powering 4 speakers regardless of size by a receiver built for only 2 will also fry the board.

Just installed the new CD player and it's 45 watt x 4. I think that means 4 speakers. Don't need 6x9s just 6 inch like the front ones.
